Are you looking for a fun loving pup to play and snuggle with then look no further, come and meet Balboa, a wonderful sweet boy looking for his forever home. Once he finds his special person, he will stay by their side whether it’s for snuggles or to guard the door while you’re in the bathroom (he knows you need your alone time!). He is approximately six months old and 40lbs. Balboa is potty trained and crate trained but is still a puppy and needs to be let out often. He is treat-motivated and is working on taking them gently with his foster family.  As with any puppy, he does require a moderate amount of exercise. He loves to play with his humans and doggy friends. Balboa’s still learning his puppy manners i.e. learning not to jump on you because he’s excited to see you, learning to wait his turn to get petted, when it’s his turn for treats/food and when to respect other dogs with their toys. He is getting better on the leash every day and is easily corrected when he veers off course.

Although we haven’t completely tested him with cats, we believe a house without any cats is best suited for him. He loooooves to play with his doggy friends and would love a sibling that he could play with, doggie daycare or lots of time at the dog park! He's also pretty athletic and agile- so big or small, he can handle dogs of any size. Hasn't been around kids but his sweet nature makes us think he'd be fine, dog savvy kids would be best as he is practicing his greetings! As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters. You are welcome to fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org; please fill this in as fully as you can. It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $400 which includes all current vetting (including neuter) and microchipping.
