Carrie is a great pup now being fostered in the Seattle area. Like all young dogs she is a work in progress. She was a stray then put in a boarding kennel so she has had little training. During her time with her foster in Louisiana she got along great with the kids and cats. She is super sweet and gets along great with dogs as well. In the two weeks that she was with her foster she didn't have an accident in the house, but was let out often and watched- as all puppies need to be. She's had 2 accidents in her kennel from being crated overnight but is learning fast. She's very treat motivated. She kennels on command (with a treat afterwards). She also sits on command with a treat. She's semi-leashed trained and has been working on getting better. Just so much excitement for her walks (she walked 4-6 times a week for about an hour) but she can be calmed with gentle correction. Loads up great and loves car rides! She's full of energy! Working on her manners. Definitely a glutton and will eat herself sick. She needs to be fed on a schedule and cannot have people food as it upsets her tummy. She likes the trash bin and tries to counter-surf (she's too short lol). She wants to be anywhere you are, LOVES to snuggle. Great watch dog, alerts to any visitors/sounds. But when approached she is submissive. She hasn't tried to escape at all from a fenced yard. She's very smart and is learning quickly. All she wants is love and affection! As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters. You are welcome to fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org; please fill this in as fully as you can. It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all transport, vetting (including neuter) and microchipping.
