Then look no further, Trooper is the boy for you!!! He is a strikingly handsome pup looking for his new forever family. 

Trooper came to AARF when his family abandoned him and left him behind when they moved. He was living alone in the back yard until someone contacted us.  Trooper is a young healthy boy, just over a year old, who has had some basic training and will sit very nicely for a treat or his dinner.  He is eager to learn and has been working on down and stay, will sit and wait on a walk if he's a little excited you just say Wait! And he sits and waits until you give him the ok to carry on. He will come to his new family along with a FREE training session to continue the great progress he has made so far! 

Trooper would probably do best with a female dog to play with, though he has been fostered with other male dogs. He's young and fun so best with a non reactive dog on the submissive side who will love him and play lots.   He has learned to do well with dog savvy cats, but is inclined to chase if they do run.  Trooper may be big and strong but is a big softie who did well with two dog savvy young children aged 2 and 3 in his last foster home.  He loves to play fetch or tug of war and really enjoys jogging! He is crate and potty trained. He is VERY interested in squirrels so a 6ft fence would be ideal but if yours is a little lower just let us know and we can talk! 

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  You are welcome to fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org; please fill this in as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Newly reduced adoption Fee is $100 which includes all current vetting (including neuter) and microchipping.
