Sweet, sassy southern sugar is our beautiful Beignet. Just over a year old she has already had a litter of unnecessary puppies- who thankfully have all been adopted to wonderful new families and so now it's her turn to find a forever home of her own, without the worry or possibility of any more babies in the future. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She is also potty trained and crate trained. 

Beignet joined us with her 3 male puppies from Louisiana where she was at a high hill shelter. She is a sweetheart who loves to play and run with other dogs and kids (there are 2 in her foster family) but also loves a warm, comfy spot and a lap to cuddle in. She doesn't know she's 50lbs and will crawl into a lap whenever she can for snuggles. She loves to be by your side, hates to be outside alone and isn't a fan of the rain! 

She hasn't been around cats so we cannot vouch for how she might react. Catahoulas were bred as a hunting breed and she does love to chase birds. She is however, eager to please and responds well to correction.

She's pretty good on a leash, knows how to sit and wait for her dinner and will sit on command for a treat. She isn't a fan of having her paws wiped when she comes in all muddy but we are working on it.

Catahoulas are an incredibly intelligent, determined and assertive breed. Please do your research to see if they might be a good fit for your family, and ensure you have the time to dedicate to their training. They will need ongoing challenges or are prone to finding their own to solve :)
