Beau is a young (around 1yr old) Pitbull / Catahoula leopard dog mix. He came to us because he was being passed around between owners. None of the people passing him around were in a situation to keep Beau in a loving stable home. So he is a little shy of new people, even though it is obvious he wants to be around them. He warms up to men slower than women, but is not aggressive with men. Beau is in a wonderful foster home that is teaching him that everyone is a good person that wants nothing more than to be his friend. He is working on his commands & is 100% kennel & potty trained. Beau would like a home with another dog to keep him company when you're gone. Because of his previously being passed around he gets nervous when left alone, but does great when another dog is present. He doesn't have to be kenneled while you're at work if there is another dog & toys present. He is great with other dogs of all sizes & is a little too interested in cats. He has never harmed a cat & is frequently with one in his foster home, but does chase them. We do recommend him to go into a home that has children over 10 years old since he can be jumpy around new people. Beau would however make a wonderful hiking, jogging, & cuddling partner for just about anyone. He loves to go for rides in the car & is working on his leash manners.
