Tripod
Meet Jeanne, this sweet girl was found abandoned and injured in rural Lousianna, covered in dog bites. Thankfully, our wonderful volunteers swooped in to get her the care she needed. Her injuries led to the amputation of her hind left leg, but being a tripod doesn't slow this girl down! She is a playful, shy, sweet and loveable pup that just wants to be by your side, Crowds make Jeanne nervous and she is timid in new situations, but eventually comes out of her shell once she is comfortable in her new surroundings. Her foster mom says that she is very food motivated, smart and wants to please. She loves kids and has been around 3&4 year olds. Jeanne is submissive and intimidated by larger dogs, but s he loves to play once she feels comfortable and safe. She also likes her quiet time to lay on the floor and chew her toys. J eanne has also made friends with a cat, which has helped her come out of her shell. Jeanne is pretty much potty trained, her foster mom says that she will whine at the door or nudge a bell to go out and go potty, but she is still young so timing is key. Jeanne would do best in a calm home with someone familiar in dealing with a tripod pup, someone that can be patient and understanding yet firm, as she is still young and learning boundaries, leash walking, etc. If Jeanne sounds like the right fit for you and your home, please read the following paragraph for more information: As a purely foster based rescue, we have no central location where you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meet requests from pre-approved adopters, with an application on file. Please fill in our online adoption application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can and allow at least 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers.
