Maize is a shy timid girl who was rescued from a rural Louisiana shelter along with her seven nursing pups. It will take a little patience to break through her wall, but once you do, she is the sweetest girl and very loyal. She is leash trained, although a little reluctant to walk in new situations. Maize is completely house trained and crate trained. If you point to her kennel she walks right in it for naps or bedtime. Maize would be good around older children as the higher energy level and unpredictability of little children tends to scare her. Maize is a low to medium energy dog that loves being outside and rolling around in the grass. She is a snuggle bug of a girl who craves attention and acceptance. She will make someone a great dog if they give her a chance and have a little bit of patience with her. If you think this sounds like your home, please read the paragraph below. As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meet requests from pre-approved adopters with an application on file. Please fill in our online adoption application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can. It won't obligate you to anything, but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $450 which includes all transport, vetting and microchipping. *Completion of obedience training within 90 days of adoption is a requirement for adoption through AARF.* Our minimum age for adoption is 25 years old.
