Mel is approximately 1 years old and she loves people, toys, and playtime. She is very affectionate and loves to lay her head in your lap for a nap. She loves to play with other dogs and toys and she is very smart. She learns fast and can quickly learn the house rules. She is a very sweet girl that had a rough life before coming to the rescue. She came to us as a stray, malnourished and scared of everything. Now that she is safe at her foster home, she is getting to know what a good life could look like and she is starting to open up. 

Mel hopes to find a fur-ever home with lots of love, a furry friend or two to play with, and maybe even kids (10+) who are dog savvy. With her excited nature, we just worry she may accidentally knock over littles or get too mouthy. She would love a fenced yard where she can run and sniff around, toys to play with, and a big cozy bed to sleep in at bedtime with a buddy. She also enjoys running on the doggy treadmill at her foster mom/trainer's house. As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs.  Therefore, we only honor meet requests from pre-approved adopters, with an application on file. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can and allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Our Adoption Fee is $450 which includes all transport, vetting and microchipping. *Completion of obedience training within 90 days of adoption is a requirement for adoption through AARF.* Our minimum age for adoption is 25 years old.
