Smokey was taken into our rescue with a fungal skin infection and infested with fleas and ticks from being left outdoors to fend for himself.  He was very shut down and scared the first couple days, but as he adjusted to his foster home his personality began to shine. Much like his sisters, Smokey is a loving, sweet boy.  He absolutely LOVES the water - as do the rest of his litter.  He is a playful, medium energy dog who loves to hang out with his siblings and play tug of war.  He and his siblings are crate trained and kennel on command and also use the doggy door on their own and learned that fairly quickly.  We believe Smokey would be a breeze to train seeing how well he took to the crate and doggy door.

We are hoping to find Smokey a home with at least one other dog for play and companionship and a family that will integrate him into their daily lives and activities. He would love to join you on adventures, hikes, walks, road trips, camping and would return the favor with years of unconditional love. As a purely foster based rescue, we have no central location where you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meet requests from pre-approved adopters, with an application on file. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can and allow at least 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Smokey's Adoption Fee is $450 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and micro-chipping. *Proof of completion of obedience training is a requirement for adoption through AARF.*
