Meet KJ! This cute guy found himself in a rural overcrowded shelter when his military family moved and couldn't take him along.  KJ is an intelligent, high energy dog that loves to run and play. He loves all people and other dogs but may be too overbearing for some dogs. Once you get KJ’s attention, he wants to listen and please you. KJ seeks out attention and once his energy is expended, he loves cuddles. KJ is completely house trained and crate trained. He will bark while in the kennel if he sees someone, but when left alone he is quiet. He will sleep quietly while in his kennel overnight. KJ has some basic training and will sit on command, but needs further work on his jumping tendencies as he is so excited to greet people! He does very well and has wonderful manners while on a leash. He also has great car manners and will just lay quietly in the back seat.

KJ would love an active family who incorporate him into their daily lives and give him lots to do. If you are interested in agility training, we think he would do very well. He would also love exploring and hiking and would make a great running partner with some training. We are looking for an adopter with prior terrier experience for KJ and we would also prefer he be in a home with older dog savvy children, if any.

As a purely foster based rescue, we have no central location where you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meet requests from pre-approved adopters, with an application on file. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can and allow at least 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. KJ's Adoption Fee is $450 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and micro-chipping. *Completion of obedience training is a requirement for adoption through AARF.*
