For a more detailed bio and description of Harper as well as additional pictures and videos, please visit out website at www.myaarf.org and click on "Browse Available Animals". Sweet Harper is a 6 month old, 42 lb Lab/Dobie mix that we rescued from a rural shelter in Louisiana. Unfortunately, she was surrendered by her owner because they were moving without her. Harper is a very active pup, intelligent and tries to please. Harper is house trained, leash trained and knows to sit on command. Harper is getting used to the kennel and is doing well. She doesn’t have any accidents in the kennel but will sometimes cry or bark while kenneled. Harper is high energy and will need lots of activities to keep her occupied or she may find inappropriate things to occupy herself. Harper is eager and quick to learn new things and will respond very well to training. She needs lots of repetition to enforce new skills. Harper likes cats and will get along with cats but may have too much energy for most as she wants to play with them intensely. If you have a cat, it must be dog savvy and unafraid.
Harper would be great in a very active house with lots of activities to do. Other dog(s) and/or children to play with to keep her occupied would be wonderful. We think she would be best with older children as her energy may be too much for little ones. She would be an excellent running or hiking companion and could most definitely keep up with you, if not outrun you :)
As a purely foster based rescue, we have no central location where you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meet requests from pre-approved adopters, with an application on file. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can and allow at least 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Harper's Adoption Fee is $450 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and micro-chipping. *Completion of obedience training is a requirement for adoption through AARF.* More about HarperGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Very vocal, Does Good in the Car, Requires a yard, Leashtrained, Cratetrained, Likes to play with toys, Obedient, Playful, Eager To Please, Intelligent Videos of Harper:
