Meet Bella! a 2 year old, 47lbs Catahoula. She is sight impaired,  has fairly good vision in good light but is more cautious when moving around in the dark/low light.   

Bella came from a hard life as a hoarder dog in Louisiana with very little to no attention the first year and a half of her life. She has gained a lot of confidence with her foster but still has a ways to go.

Bella is a sweet, gentle girl who is timid with new people and environments. Needs time and patience in adjusting.

She has good leash manners and loves her walks. Happy to stroll and take in the smells.

Playful with other dogs, once she gets to know them.

Able to be alone alone for periods of time without any problem

Content to chill during the day - before and after a walk.

Her perfect home would be a home with chill, relaxed energy. Someone who has time and patience to support her to adjust and feel safe in her new home. Someone who would provide thoughtful introduction of new people into her home. She would adjust fine to a home where she was on her own during the day as long as a walk is in the schedule. She sleeps long and deep through the night, if you like a slow start to your day, she's your girl!

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $375 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
