Vallerie is an active dog that loves to be on the go, but she also loves to hang out on the couch and relax. She has a high prey drive so you will need to keep her close around squirrels, chipmunks and other wildlife. She has been raised around cats for the past six months and should be perfectly fine with them. Vallerie is leash trained but is unsure of new places so she may hesitate while walking at first. However, this is nothing that a little training and exposure won't fix. Vallerie is slow to warm up to people, but once she does she is affectionate and loving.

Vallerie would love an active family that can keep up with her energy level, but also shower her with lots of attention. Once training and boundaries are established we believe Vallerie would make a wonderful running or hiking companion. Vallerie's absolute favorite thing in the world are squeaky toys! If you are looking for an exercise or activity companion who can keep up with you but also lounge on the couch, you may have found your girl!

As a purely foster-based rescue, we have no central location where you can visit our dogs.  Therefore, we only honor meet requests from pre-approved adopters, with an application on file. Please complete our online adoption application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can and allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteer staff. Vallerie's adoption fee is $400 which includes transportation, vetting (including spay/neuter) and micro-chipping. Completion of obedience training is a requirement for adoption through AARF.
