River was pulled from a rural Louisiana kill shelter as a stray at only 5 months. Therefore, not much is known about his previous life. River's favorite thing to do is run outside and play with toys. He  is full of energy and can’t wait to play. He loves going for a walk or doing anything outside, but when he’s ready to come in, he will let you know. He loves to play with any type of stuffed toy, especially if it has squeaker . River is also very food motivated and would pick up training quickly. 

River loves to be outside and run around, so a big yard to play in with daily walks and/or runs and maybe hikes on the weekends would be perfect for him. He would love to join you on your outdoor adventures, road trips or camping. River needs a person or family that will spend time snuggling with him on the couch. Also, due to his high energy level it might be good if he had a fur sibling or two to play with as he tends to get bored rather quickly. If you have the fun and active lifestyle that River would love to be a part of, please consider submitting an application. He would make the best adventure companion!

River is being fostered south of Seattle near Columbia City.

As a purely foster-based rescue, we have no central location where you can visit our dogs.  Therefore,  we only honor meeting requests from pre-approved adopters, with an application on file . Please complete our online adoption application at www.myaarf.org/forms as fully as you can and allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteer staff. River's adoption fee is $450 which includes transportation, vetting (including spay/neuter) and micro-chipping. Completion of obedience training is a requirement for adoption through AARF.
