To My Future Mom and/or Dad:

My name is Alder and I came into the shelter as a stray.  As you'll see in my shelter picture (last picture) I was very sad to be there.  Soon after I came in, a nice lady pulled me from the shelter on behalf of AARF.  I was taken to the vet's office for my first set of shots and the vet tech there said it was as if I was born leash trained and that I pranced right in like I'd been there 100 times.  I guess this is very uncommon for puppies my age seeing as I am only 10 weeks old.  The nice lady who pulled me also says I have quite the personality and that I am very confident and intelligent.  She thinks I melt hearts wherever I go.

My foster mom says that I am a love bug and when we are outside I like to stay right next to her because I feel safe with her.  She says I'm a loyal puppy, but really I just love her and want to be by her all the time.  Since I am a mix of hunting and sporting breeds, I will need an active person, couple or family who will make my exercise and training a priority.  I am quite the mountain goat and love to climb up on furniture.  My foster mom is always in the kitchen cooking and I can't see her, so I like to stand on the patio furniture outside the kitchen window to keep an eye on her!  You will have to be willing to give me the proper amount of exercise and stimulation so I can be a good boy for you.  My foster mom also says I will have to go to puppy obedience school to learn puppy manners and socialization by playing with other puppies my age.

I promise I will be a great companion to you and very easy to train because I LOVE FOOD!  My foster mom says I am doing well my potty training (with close supervision) and have a ton of energy so don't miss out on me and make sure to apply before someone else scoops me up!

Love,

Alder

*As a purely foster based rescue, we have no central location or shelter where you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meeting requests from pre-approved adopters, as they will be going to our foster's home.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can, and allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Alder's Adoption Fee is $450 which includes his transport from Louisiana to Seattle, vetting (including spay/neuter - with one of our vets, current on shots, heart worm and flea/tick preventative), and micro-chipping (including registration).
