Petey is as sweet and loving as can be and does great with other dogs of all sizes, kids and people.  He may take a little bit to warm up, but once he does, he comes when called, wags his tail and is eager to please.  He would crawl in your lap if you let him!  Petey loves the water and doesn't mind a mud puddle or two. Before Petey was taken in by AARF, he was adopted by a family with a young boy from a rescue in Louisiana as a puppy.  The family then decided they wanted a smaller dog, so they gave Petey back to the rescue :(  Petey was extremely sad and missed his little boy so much.

Petey just wants a forever family of his own to love him unconditionally.  The 4 day long drive  from Louisiana to Seattle was a bit stressful for Petey and he was a little withdrawn.  However, he has since settled in to his foster's home in the Seattle area and is coming out of his shell.  Petey is ready and available to do meet and greets.  He would make a great outdoor companion on hikes, camping trips and road trips and would love to join you on any adventure you have in mind, especially if it involves water.  If interested in adopting Petey, please see instructions below.

As a purely foster based rescue, we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meeting requests from pre-approved adopters with an application on file.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully and completely as you can.  Also, please note it may take 24-48 hours to get a response from our busy volunteers. Petey's Adoption Fee is $375 which includes transport from Louisiana to Seattle, vetting (spay/neuter, being up to date on shots as well as flea/tick and heart worm preventative) and micro-chipping, including registration.
