To My Future Furever Family:

My name is Blizzard. I showed up on a lady's yard, with all my ribs showing, in a ditch, and eating trash. Little was known about my previous life. The nice lady entered me into the Louisiana Lifelines 4 K9s foster family in c/o AARF, and I met my foster dad . I have since been socialized with a revolving group of four dogs and a cat. I have plenty of room to run around in and play, and I have my very own bedroom. I gained enough weight to hide all my ribs, I snuggle with my dad at bedtime, and I'm a couch potato.

I will bark at any loud passing vehicles, especially the mailman, because he really needs his exhaust system checked out. I am protective of my owner. Strange dogs need not approach in a hurry, they should do it under control of their human until my parent says it's okay. I am housebroken, but since my foster dad works 12 hour shifts, he put out a decent sized rug for me in my bedroom, which I know to use if I have to go. I don't have any other places that I pee or poo inside. I do get into the cat litter box for free treats from time to time, but that job has been picked up by our latest foster dog, Jackie.

I was raised with a friend of mine in the foster system, her name was Ebony! She is in Seattle and I hope to see her when I get there. I do well with cats and occasionally we chase each other around the house, or rather, I chase him around the house, but it's all in good fun, no harm ever. I like to chew sticks and bullysticks, and I hate rawhides, never give me a rawhide!. I have been eating Science Diet Advanced Fitness and I'm pretty sure they should choose me to be their dog model. I have unconditional love. I was down in the dumps, and now I'm loved and healthy. I only want to share this with my furever family.

PS: Sometimes I play rough with my fellow dog family, which may or may not suit your fancy. It's just the nature of some dogs. You just have to know when it's appropriate to step in, and give us a break. We're all family anyways. I just need love, a 4ft+ fence, and plenty of space to run, because there's some shepherd in me :) I also love bully sticks!

As a purely foster based rescue, we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meeting requests from pre-approved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything, or any particular dog, but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Blizzard's Adoption Fee is $400 which includes transport from Louisiana to Seattle, vetting (spay/neuter, shots, flea/tick and heart worm preventative) and micro-chipping, including registration.
