Diesel's story is a very sad one, but we are hoping it will have a happy ending. Diesel was found by a volunteer whose neighbor had a litter of puppies several months prior. It appears he was abandoned and left to fend for himself when he started having skin and eye issues from neglect and improper care. When Diesel was found, he was malnourished, had mange and severe conjunctivitis. All things that could be easily remedied, but if left u ntreated, are extremely painful and get progressively worse. He was taken in and after several weeks of TLC and proper medical care, he is now good as new. Although Diesel looks all better on the outside, he has some internal healing to do. He is cautious of new people and can be timid and shy. He lacks the confidence of a dog who knows he is loved, wanted and well cared for. We believe in the right home environment he will become the wonderfully confident dog we know he can be. Diesel is now getting ready to come to Seattle on Labor Day Weekend to a wonderful foster's home to prepare him for life in our beautiful, dog loving city. He is waiting for the right family to come along and help him come out of his shell and give him the love, caring and kindness he has been missing in his life. Could that be you? (Video shows what Diesel's condition was when found - pictures show his current condition). *As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meeting requests from pre-approved adopters. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can. It won't obligate you to anything, or any particular dog, but gives us a great place from which to begin the process. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $425 which includes his transport from Louisiana to Seattle, all vetting (including a full health exam, spay/neuter & shots), and micro-chipping.
