Olive is the best mix of Chihuahua and Jack Russell. She is a snuggler, loves to burrow under blankets, and sit on your lap. She likes being by her people, but will also listen if you tell her to stay put. She loves to run and play, doing zoomies around the yard or playing tug with you or another dog. She also loves to help in the garden by waiting patiently for fresh blueberries or sitting in the sunshine.
Olive knows a few commands and listens very well when off leash. She has great recall and will stop in her tracks if you tell her to. She's fully potty-trained and crate-trained and doesn't chew things except her toys. She's not a big barker, other than letting you know when someone comes to the door.
She doesn't like a lot of new stimuli, so a quiet home without a lot of traffic or people coming in and out would be best. She can be fearful of new people, especially when in a confined space or when she feels she needs to protect her people. She needs someone who is willing to go slow with her as she realizes she's safe. She'd also do best in a home with a yard for her to run around.
As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meeting requests from pre-approved adopters. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can and allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Olive's Adoption Fee is $375 which includes her transport from Louisiana to Seattle, vetting, including spay/neuter, up to date on shots & heart worm/flea preventative and micro-chipping, including registration.
