Harper's current foster has nothing but great things to say about her. She says that Harper has discovered that she loves toys, especially stuffies with squeakers. Harper also loves to be outside when it is sunny and warm. She loves to lay in the warm sun and bask in all its glory. Harper is a very sweet girl and gentle soul, ready to bond with her special people. She loves to cuddle, give kisses and is very playful, she loves toys and chew bones. She had a rough going on life but she's ready for her forever home. She's great with other dogs and doesn't seem to want to be alpha. She doesn't bark much, and tends to be shy. Loud noises can startle her and make her go into hiding but she will come out when she feels ok or when you speak to her gently. She has improved a lot but she may always be more of a timid dog sensitive to loudness but with trust in her person she will calm down. A result of her anxiety was that she felt only comfortable to go potty inside, but as she's been improving in confidence she's been very good about going outside. She's a wonderful dog who simply had to come out of her shell and is still continuing to do so. The family adopting her will be very lucky to have this dog with her kind disposition. She will need to learn basic obedience because of her young age and also nobody has invested the effort yet to teach. Her fosters have mostly been giving her time to come out of her shell, be loved and allow her to love back. They have 4 dogs and all love her and will miss her because she's so lovely but a family out there will be lucky to have her! Harper absolutely loves getting love and affection, which she probably never had much of previously. She also loves to follow you everywhere around the house. She is really enjoying her time learning about all these new things she was never exposed to before. Her foster believes Harper would do best in a home with a family with kids and another dog. She is very much a people pleaser and just wants to make her human happy, so she would be quite easy to train as well. Please see below for information on how to apply: As a purely foster based rescue, we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs. Therefore, we only honor meeting requests from pre-approved adopters. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org/forms as fully as you can. It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog (unless you want it to) but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
