Scruffy may be small but as you can see from his videos he sure doesn't let his size stop him! He LOVES to play and wrestle with other dogs even when they are 4x his size. Although he was a little scared when meeting the 4 larger dogs in his foster home he soon settled in and ran the place lol.

He is a fun loving boy who is potty and crate trained and likes to wander around the yard to explore. He is learning to walk nicely on leash and loves to go for walks to sniff at his surroundings. He is great in the car and only barks when he is excited or someone comes to the door. Initially on meeting someone he can be a little wary but he warms up super fast.

Scruffy is currently staying with two children aged 8 and 11 and loves to greet them in the morning and after school. He had no issues walking to the bus stop when surrounded by kids either. Like most fosters he is wary of men in caps with beards- dogs like to be able to see your face! He loves his cuddles when he chooses to imitate them and will kiss your ear or nose if allowed. After some active time he will curl up and nap in a comfy lap or next to you on the couch. 

He is a little mouthy but doesn't chew on people and he loves to play tug of war. He is a little protective of his toys especially around other dogs and was said to be food aggressive at his first foster home- as we don't feed our dogs side by side or put food based toys out in general domain we haven't seen this at all.

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
