Meet Cherry Garcia who weighs  in at  3.8lbs at 6 weeks old. He is one of a litter of puppies who will be joining us in Seattle at the end of August (when they are old enough to leave their mom) and who are all going to be looking for their forever families. This little boy is a big goof! So silly! His foster momma opens the gate and he will stand there and bark until he is shown the way out lol. He loves his toys, he's more gentle though. Loves to snuggle of course and his BIG BLUE EYES are the prettiest!!! We hope that they will stay blue though sometimes puppy eyes change as they grow older.

His Momma Sugar Cone weighs in at 36lbs so is petite for a Catahoula  and though she could stand to gain a few pounds will probably top out around 45lbs at her ideal weight. We have no clue what Daddy was so your guess is as good as ours! We cannot guarantee anything about these puppies size wise as they are currently too young to guess.

Catahoulas are energetic intelligent dogs who need a firm kind owner who will be consistent and who understands the needs of training classes and updates. They are an assertive breed originally bred to hunt hogs in Louisiana and as such can be challenging for the first time owner. BUT should you take on that challenge you will be rewarded with unwavering loyalty and an amazing family member.

PLEASE do your research on this breed and feel free to ask questions! Puppies are a TON of work and need plenty of time to learn where to potty and how to behave. We prefer to home with families who will not be gone too long during the day (maximum 2-3hrs) as these guys are pretty young and will need lots of company and socializing. We require home and reference checks before adoption and our adoption contract requires puppy training class and spay/ neuter surgery.  The adoption fee is $400 and covers the puppies shots, microchip and spay or neuter surgery at one of our approved vets.

As we are purely a foster based rescue we cannot honor meet and greets for anyone without a preapproved application. If you are interested in meeting Cherry Garcia please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org under the forms tab. It will not obligate you to anything but gives us a great tool to begin the matching process for each puppy. We work hard to match personalities and ensure our dogs of their forever homes, so if we think a different puppy might work better for you we will let you know!

Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers.
