Did you know that Tora means Tiger??? We couldn't resist naming this beautiful girl after her stripes!!! She arrived in Seattle July 20th and whilst she is enjoying her beach front foster home she really would love a family of her very own! She isn't as big as she looks in her photos weighing in at just 60lbs. With some regular exercise and the right diet we think she should be around 55lbs ideal weight. Gorgeous Tora was found on the side of the road in rural Louisiana eating trash out of a garbage bag, she was also very pregnant and just trying to survive for her babies. Although the vet said she should be weeks off giving birth sadly Tora went into labor a couple of days later, needed an emergency c-section and lost all 5 of her puppies :( Luckily a rescue volunteer found her that day and despite losing her babies was able to nurse her back to health and now she is ready to come to Seattle to find a loving forever home! Tora adores people and especially loves to cuddle with the 11yr old boy in her foster home, in fact her perfect day would be lying with her head in someones lap receiving belly rubs. She will close her eyes and bask in the attention! She's a happy go lucky dog who enjoys playing with tennis balls, rope too and her squeaky Kong wubba. She is crate trained (won't potty in her crate whilst you are out) and has been doing well with being home with family around for a couple of hours with no potty accidents- she may still need reminders of when to go outside but she is learning. Tora likes other dogs and wants to play but one given the proper introductions she does great! Tora has not been around cats at all. Do you think you might be able to give Tora the loving home she so deserves? If so, please read on for how to apply! As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can. It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
