Are you looking for a "big dog" but don't have the room? Maybe Hoshi and his petite size (43lbs) might be the guy for you. Don't let his smaller stature fool you though Hoshi has a TON of personality and definitely owns the mellower big guy nature. Hoshi is a sweet boy and so gorgeous-as you can see from his photos!  Although the vet in Louisiana  thinks he is a full blooded rottweiler we think with his smaller body and slightly longer hair he must be mixed with something. 

He likes playing with other dogs and loves hanging out with his people and cuddling. He is not aggressive but did have one instance  before  he was neutered where he didn't back down once challenged. Since his neuter Hoshi has lived happily with the other 10 dogs at his foster home without any signs of aggression. He even tolerates the little bossy shitzu lol.

Hoshi comes with some basic training, is already crate trained, potty trained and rides well in the car. He isn't noisy but might let you know if he thinks he has been in his crate too long. Otherwise he is such a mellow guy you rarely hear him complain. 

He is great with kids and although we haven't seen him around cats lately we believe he has been around them and does just fine. He was rescued just in the nick of time escaping  euthanasia at the local pound and is longing to find family of his very own.

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
