Are you looking for a sweet  addition  to your family? We are told Molly is a German Shepard mix and weighs about 60lbs. She just turned three in February and is already house trained, kennel trained and good with other dogs. She is great with babies and children as well. Molly is a very lovable girl who likes to think she's a lap dog from time to time- shhh don't tell her  she's  too big she has no idea!

Molly walks well on a leash (so long as you use a gentle leader) and loves to play ball. When she's done playing she is a very laid back dog. She is also completely up to date on her vaccines, spayed and fully vetted. Her adoption fee is $250.

Molly has short hair that does shed and loves to be brushed. She likes to ride in the car and will hop on in but likes to be lifted into a van if that's your mode of transport. Being a 3yr old she believes in safety first and quite enjoys sitting in a child seat lol But otherwise she is comfy wherever you put her.  Molly knows sit, down and stay (sometimes lol)

She has a loud scary bark and does bark at strangers approaching the house and anyone that rings the doorbell. However, she is very friendly once told it is ok and she settles down. She has not had acted aggressively towards strangers at all. Other than that, she does not bark. She makes a guttural sound when she is at the back door and wants to go out.

She will play catch for a while. She likes to go to the dog park and will play with other dogs. She is timid around cats, and honestly has only seen a few that she has encountered on walks. She is fine with other dogs – of all sizes.

She is fine with kids of all ages. And is very even tempered.

She is crate trained and responds to the command “Crate”. She gets a treat when she gets in the crate. She is currently only crated when left home alone and likes to sleep on a dog bed at night. She is not currently allowed on the furniture and she is good about that.

She does like to “counter surf” in the kitchen. So, beware if you leave food in her reach. She loves butter! And cottage cheese. She shouldn't be fed human food though as it's not healthy for her. She is not used to eating her food at regular mealtimes having been allowed to free feed at her last home. She will need to learn to do this and we are sure will learn fast. Currently she enjoys the kirkland brand kibble.

She gets a pill for fleas and worms on the first of the month. You have to crush it and mix it with peanut butter or some bouillon and pour over dry food. Otherwise she won't take it.

She likes to chew on bones and loves rubber toys that are filled with treats. If she goes out the front door, she does not run away. She goes to the edge of the lawn and then runs back. Comes when called. She doesn’t really like to be cold and is not a fan of snow. She does not like to swim or go into the water.

We think she would do fine in an apartment if she were walked regularly.

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
