Sully arrived in rescue with half an ear missing and an obvious old injury that suggests his skull was crushed from an attempt to kill him by hitting him in the head when he was much younger. Sadly in the south this is sometimes considered a cheaper alternative to get rid of unwanted puppies rather than fixing your animals... It is fully healed and doesn't seem to have affected him at all so we don't mention it to him as he is sensitive about his rugged good looks!

Sully is a 2 yr old hound mix of some sort, we are guessing perhaps beagle as he's not so big and won't get any bigger. He is perfect in almost every way! He is housebroken to the point that he'd probably burst before pottying in the house. He loves cats and kids. He does well with other dogs, both large and small.  

It is worth mentioning that the only dog Sully did not do well with was one unneutered male. They had an argument before Archer was neutered and Sully continued to dislike him. Archer was eventually adopted and they never became friends. Dogs choose their friends and Sully has never shown any reaction to any other dog.

Sully travels well, walks great on a leash, minds well, has good recall, loves his people and LOVES to snuggle. Snuggling is his favorite favorite favorite thing to do in this whole world. He's a quiet, gentle dog, but loves to run and play with others when given the chance. Sully
would fit into ANY family....except one with chickens!

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
