Shepherd / Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (short coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Baby : : Medium Learn more about the Catahoula Leopard Dog.
Gator is the sweetest young man we have had around in a while, his foster mom says his presence is soothing, and calming despite his playful puppy nature- he adores his cuddles! Although he is kennel trained he loves to spend his time snuggled up against you in a chair, laying next to you in bed or just sleeping under the desk as you work. He would be the PERFECT pup to take to work with you! He has the warmest brown eyes that will melt your soul, loves long walks and playing with his toys and puppy foster brother. He is an open, sweet boy who runs around like a goofball when he's not relaxing and just hanging out. Gator is a unique pup who can be a little cautious and timid on first meeting new friends but he quickly warms up and makes everyone feel just as special as he is. As with all young puppies Gator cannot be left alone more than 2-3hrs and is still working on his potty training. He is doing really well though he will still need reminders to go out after eating or waking up. Part of our adoption contract is a promise to attend a puppy training class to ensure he has a great start learning the rules of life as a family member. Are you ready to commit to training? Have a hefty dose of patience and love to hand out? Are you ready for puppy breath, cuddles, laughter and more? Then perhaps Gator is the boy for you :) Please do your research on Shepherds and Catahoulas before applying, these breeds are loyal, very intelligent amazing dogs who require a strong minded owner who will ensure they learn their place in the pack. The time you put into your dog will be returned ten fold! Read on for instructions on how to apply:
As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can. It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $400 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
