Cashew is one of a litter of 7 who were born to a very sweet Momma Catahoula in Louisiana at the end of January. This family is one of the lucky ones who made it into rescue and into a foster home in time to be birthed in safety and surrounded by love. Since birth Cashew has been with the same foster family and children and with her mom. Sadly Dad didn't stick around so your guess on his breed mix is as good as ours! 

She is a very sweet girl who loves to be by her person's side or exploring with them in the yard. She is a little shy meeting bigger dogs but really wants to play and does her best to warm up quickly. She would love a doggie companion or children to play with although you won't be turned away so long as you have plenty of time and love to offer. 

As with all young puppies Cashew cannot be left alone more than 2-3hrs and is still working on her potty training. Part of our adoption contract is a promise to attend a puppy training class to ensure she has a great start learning the rules of life as a family member.  Are you ready to commit to training? Have a hefty dose of patience and love to hand out? Are you ready for puppy breath, cuddles, laughter and more? Then perhaps Cashew is the girl for you :)  Please do your research on Catahoulas before applying, they are loyal, very intelligent amazing dogs who require a strong minded owner who will ensure they learn their place in the pack. As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $400 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
