Betsy is a beautiful bouncy young Catahoula mix who is looking for a fun loving outdoorsy energetic family who are willing to take her through training and be the consistency that she craves. Catahoula are very intelligent dogs who need owners who will be kind, calm and in control. A tired dog is a good dog and Betsy so wants to be YOUR good dog! She loves playing fetch and would probably be best with older kids who can handle her enthusiasm for life! She would play ball all day long if she could. She's good with other dogs, not sure about cats.

She is crate trained and potty trained and has never had an accident in the house. She loves to run and equally enjoys being snuggled and loved on by her family.  Like some dogs she is scared of loud noises especially gun shots and if she hears them will run and hide.  She enjoys the water and the beach and ideally would get to spend time there as often as possible!

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
