Chase is an approximately 2yr old male, neutered, rat terrier/ JRT possibly? mix with the sweetest bushy curly tail that comes from who knows where?! He is very affectionate, eager to please and quick to respond to corrections so should be a breeze to train. He loves to play and is very respectful of other dogs from what we have seen so far. He is getting on well with the female dog in his new foster home though we do know he was not a fan of two unfixed male dogs at his previous foster. Like most smaller terriers Chase is true to his name and loves to chase cats (and leaves lol) so is best off in home without one. He already knows off, down and sit and seems to be very trainable. We will be requiring a training class as part of his adoption so he can meet his full potential- he's a smart fun dog who will learn fast and we think a class is a great bonding experience for all involved.  

Chase is house trained and crate trained and doesn't make a sound when crated. He sleeps through the night and put himself to bed in his crate after he was done with his evening cuddles last night! He loves to play with toys but adores his people best of all and is happiest snuggle in a lap or cuddled up in bed.  He is small weighing in around 25 lbs.

Chase is doing well with the 7yr + 10yr old children in his foster home and comes to them for cuddles and playtime. We think he will do very well with respectful kids who will let him lead the way on interactions and not treat him as a toy :) 

Chase's only negative point is a fear of harnesses so will very much prefer you not use one to begin with- he will growl and snip at you if you try to put one on! His foster mom is working on making it a more positive experience but it will be a process that will need to continue slowly if you decide you must use one.

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
