Hound / Boxer / Mixed (short coat) : : Female (not spayed) : : Adult
Dahlia loves people. She doesn't require another dog around as long as she has humans. She has learned easily to walk on a leash, kennel on her own and to sit for her treats. She's a lot of company and would be great for anyone that wants to feel like their dog's world revolves around them. That's Dahlia. She quiet though she does bark when there is a reason. She does really well being kenneled for long periods of time since she LIKES her kennel. She'll even take naps in it with the door wide open. She does not require kenneling at since she has no destructive habits and is totally house broken....she can be trusted to be free in the house when you leave. She likes to go outside but does not roam or try to leave....she stays on the porch or right in the yard. She does not require a fence. She would do wonderful in an apartment or home with a very small to no yard. She will surprise you with her random playfulness....all of a sudden the butt goes in the air and her chest on the floor and tail wagging....almost seems out of character for her.
As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can. It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $350 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
