Peeta is one of our Hunger Games puppies. These pups were named after their strong will to survive having come into rescue after being found thrown away into a steep culvert in rural Louisiana. Thankfully a lady was walking nearby with her 6 year old son and they heard the puppies crying. The only way they could reach to pull them out was for her to hold his ankles whilst he crawled down into the bushes to pull the pups to safety!! The puppies were in terrible shape and we were afraid they wouldn't survive the night, but they stepped up to the challenge and are now fit, healthy, happy puppies who are looking for loving homes to call their own.

Peeta is one of the smaller boys we are guessing he will be around 30lbs fully grown. He is cautious at first but once he feels settled he will explore his surroundings, comes out of his shell and loves to play. Enjoys romping and wrestling with his siblings. Then wants to curl up in your lap for a nap. Super cute boy great with people and other dogs. 

He is up to date on shots, microchipped and his neuter surgery needs to happen before he is 6 months old. The cost of surgery is included in his adoption fee so long as it is with one of our approved local vets. 

As Peeta is still a puppy he cannot be left alone for long periods of time, will need a safe puppy proofed environment and someone with lots of patience!  If that could be you, we do require a home and reference checks before adoption and with our puppies the adoption contract states that a training class is also mandatory. 

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $400 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
