Cirrus is a gorgeous Catahoula Leopard dog currently being fostered in Edmonds, WA. He loves his toys, foods and treats and his evening cuddle time after some good exercise and time with friends. He doesn't like being crated for long periods of time and will bark if left alone too long to let you know he is bored! Otherwise he's not barker, he is a sweet fairly mellow boy who can be a little timid at first but who warms up and likes to be around his people.

He enjoys being around other dogs, is scared of cats and likes to patrol the chicken coop fence at his foster home.  He is great with dog savvy young children. A condition for his adoption is enrollment in a training class. Catahoulas are not for everyone and thrive with strong kind but firm family. Please research the breed before applying. They are intelligent and you need to stay one step ahead with training and constant reinforcement. Being wary of strangers is a breed trait sometimes and therefore Houlas need lots of people socialization and time with other dogs.

Cirrus is potty trained, crate and leash trained but is still very much a puppy who will need LOTS of chew toys to focus his attention on. As he is young he cannot be left alone for long periods of time. If you think you might have the time and love to give him please read on to see how to apply for him to join your family....

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters.  You are welcome to fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org; please fill this in as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $400 which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
