Very very very intelligent and always learning. Will watch to see how you do something and then copy you! He can open his fosters food container, turn on fridge water dispenser, and will ring a bell on door when he needs to go out. Very food motivated so training will be constant but fun and easier than with a dog who isn't food motivated! 

LOVES to explore so cannot currently be left alone outside even for a minute. He is very responsive to correction but you have to watch him!  Loves to chase any creature, bird, squirrel, mouse. Loves people and dogs. Loves the foster family cat, does not fight with the cat but might “love” it a little too much and wants to play and lick on them. Is wonderful and very patient with children. Listens well to commands and is learns very quickly. Sig will follow you around the house happily.  He does tends to bark when he if left alone outside, or go exploring on his own. Aarf prefers our adopters never leave a dog alone outside. Like most young dogs Sig will dig a little but nothing too much. Loves fruit, and is always hungry. (Possibly this has a lot to do with how long he lived in the wild starving) LOVES dirty socks and will carry them all around. With his prey drive he may be a good hunting or search dog with training. 

Sig will be arriving in Seattle on Oct 2nd and would love to go directly to his new family, though he does have a foster home waiting for him here. 

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters. Please fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org; as fully as you can.  It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process.  Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $ which includes all transport, vetting (including spay/neuter) and microchipping.
