What a   Lucky  guy   Lucky  is.  Lucky  was in the animal control officer's truck at the vet's office, waiting to be taken in for his appointment with death. Head down and very depressed,   Lucky  jerked his head up as soon as Russ, the amazing animal control officer at DeRidder Animal Control, walked up to the truck and informed the BPSO animal control of ficer the he was there to pull a dog.
We still don't know how  Lucky  knew, but he certainly did know that Russ was talking about him. His sorrow turned to immediate joy.  Lucky  was safe and he knew it.
Lucky  had a generous benefactor, who sponsored all  Lucky 's vetting. And believe me, it was not cheap.  Lucky  had mange and had to be quarantined and treated for that for a month. At last vet visit  Lucky  got the happy news that he is now clear of all mange and is ready to go to his forever family. His perfect family is out there somewhere....now to find it.
Lucky  is about 1 year old. He is fully vetted, including neuter, and is heartworm negative and on prevention. He is kennel trained and housebroken. He is a super sweet guy who gets along with kids, cats and other dogs. He can be trusted not to destroy all you priceless heirlooms...give him a treat now and then and he is good to go.

As a purely foster based rescue we have no central location at which you can visit our dogs, consequently we only honor meeting requests from preapproved adopters. You are welcome to fill in our online application at www.myaarf.org; please fill this in as fully as you can. It won't obligate you to anything or any particular dog but gives us a great place from which to begin the matching process. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response from our busy volunteers. Adoption Fee is $400 which includes all current vetting (including neuter) and microchipping.
